I personally don't, but maybe one of my followers can point you in the right direction :)

They prefer bright indirect light, so if the plant can see the sky at all times, it'll grow best.
It's better to avoid direct sun but they really aren't picky and will thrive even further away from a window.
2. Water
In the summer the top layer of the soil should stay pretty moist, so about once or twice a week at least!
In the winter they need less water since there is less light, and the plant will absorb and consume less water. Once a week is enough.
It should be enough water so that it comes out of the drainage holes*
Bigger plants obviously need more water, but probably less often than a smaller one.
When spider plants are thirsty, they get paler, so you can actually tell when your friend needs a sip! They'll go back to a deeper green once theyâre thoroughly watered.
3. Soil and Fertilizer
Normal garden compost earth is fine, you can mix in some perlite for better drainage but it's not strictly necessary. Try and see what works best for you!
*Make sure your pot has drainage holes at the bottom though!!! This is very important so as to not drown your plants.
Fertilize them when they look like they need it. They don't need a lot of it and will grow well if they have good light and water. Of course they'll still be thankful for some extra nutrients!
PROPAGATION
When your plant is big enough, it will start sprouting long flower shoots from its core. Those will then produce little baby spider plants!
The best way to get these babies to root is to place them in water (not fully submerged, only the bottom parts should be getting wet. Thatâs where the roots come out). Leave the babies attached to the mother plant, so that they can still get their nutrients from them and have an easier time rooting.
Once the roots are about 10cm / 3inch long you can plant them!
This method works very well and little spider babies make wonderful gifts!
Splitting the plant is also an option, but it requires repotting and a lot of damage to the roots.
REPOTTING
Once you've put a baby spider plant in some soil, it's gonna grow very fast. I repot mine about every two to three months until they're decently sized.
When they are bigger they do not need to be repotted as often, once a year at most. You can tell when they need repotting if the roots are showing through the drainage holes or on the top layer of soil.
Small tips:
Spider plants are virtually unkillable and theyâre very forgiving if you forget to water them, etc.
If youâre following all these âinstructionsâ and still donât see your plant thriving, mix things up a little bit! What works for me might not necessarily work best for you!
That being said, if my spiders are looking bad or dull, itâs usually cause they need to be repotted or the soil is too compact.
~Best of luck on your journey as a Spider Parent!~
Getting creepy and crawly today with the snake plant Sansevieria trifasciata and the spider plant from the genus Chlorophytum. These plants are hardy and great for beginners to indoor gardening!

yo friends I just got a job at a local math and science center in my area which is super cool but I don't think all of the animals there are being kept in the best conditions they can be. While this isnt specifically my department.... over the next few weeks I'm hoping to help change the exhibits which means convince the manager to let me make the animal enclosures even better and educate the other interns on how to truthfully care for the animals. And in turn the public.
What I need from you guys will be care sheets and sources (as scientific as possible) on better care methods for the animals kept there.
Right now I know that their hermit crabs don't look to be right so if people could send me some hermit crab care stuff I would be very greatfull

That post aside, can someone link me care sheets from a reputable place for ball pythons JUST IN CASE? I'll also need arguments WHY YOU DON'T FUCKING LIVE FEED. The only live feeding I can get behind are pinkies and thereabouts. @i-m-snek is the only one to come to mind I'm sorry mutuals ; _ ;
Any recommendations on snake breeds to look into that are a small size, low activity level, and maybe enjoy human interaction/holding? I'm just getting into snakes and this blog is awesome! Also any info about corn snakes?
Hello and thank you! Most of your questions can be answered with a post I wrote for another recent anon with similar questions. I hope you donât mind my linking that here, but it was a pretty good post and I donât think I can top it working from scratch.http://omg-snakes.tumblr.com/post/155831119526/hey-im-looking-into-getting-a-snake-for-my
There are lots of great smaller snake species. Corn snakes donât get huge, but if youâre looking for something that stays under five feet youâll be looking at sand boas, rosy boas, some milk and king snake species, hognose snakes, house snakes, African house snakes, and ball pythons.Human interaction preferences vary by individual snake, though you can get a general temperament profile of a species by talking to folks who work with that particular species.I personally wouldnât consider any of these species (or any species at all, really) to be great pets for someone who hasnât done much research yet, but learning is easy and fun and youâll find tons of online resources to get you on the path to discovering the perfect snake for you!I think Iâm going to start an FAQ here on Tumblr with some links to great care sheets for some of the more commonly-asked-about species.Know of a caresheet you really love? Have a caresheet youâve made that youâre particularly proud of? PM me and Iâll include it in the link list!
Hey, there! Iâve been following your blog awhile and love all that you do. Itâs so informative and Iâm sure there are animals out there living better lives because of your hard work.
Iâm just dropping you a message today (that you donât need to actually publish if you donât want) because I notice that you get a lot of betta questions. If youâd ever like some resources to refer to, Iâd like to leave some links with you that could be handy. Obviously, do with them what youâd like but spreading awareness about proper betta care is what I live for. <3
