I'm not sure what made this project pop into my head, all I know is one moment I'm thinking about nothing and the next I'm thinking about how I've been sitting on the perfect components to make a little prop inspired by the Captive Unicorn/Unicorn at Rest medieval tapestry. Should have taken more process pics, but some projects just come together too quickly, y'know? The fence started out a dirty white, I think it was some kind of Easter centerpiece before I thrifted it several years ago. I just painted it a dark grey basecoat and then dry brushed gold over that and sealed it with some dirty sparkle varnishes I custom mixed in the summer when I was building the mini dungeon. The tree is a candle holder I thrifted over a decade ago in Vermont, back when I was working on my MFA. It was already roughly tree shaped so I just bulked it out with greenstuff to give it a more natural look/to attach the led lights. Could have made a tapestry accurate tree from scratch I bet, but I kinda like how this one turned out and it's already glued in place with the reindeer moss so... Too late! Now all it needs is a unicorn of some sort.
