I couldn’t leave Capitol without coming back to say goodbye to this guy. Al Schmitt is an absolute master in my field and has literally been working in the recording industry since it’s infancy. I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to watch him work day in and day out at Capitol. Coming in to work at Capitol felt like walking into Al’s house, and almost every aspect of what I did there was informed in some way by Al. Beyond that, Al is just a wonderful, funny, compassionate human being who has my absolute deepest respect. If you even have a passing interest in the music industry, do yourself a favor and pick up his new book. It’s got so many fascinating insights into his process and amazing stories from his time working with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Ray Charles, and so many others legends. I’m so lucky I got to spend time with you Al, thank you! • • • • #alschmitt #capitolstudios #recordingstudio #losangeles #hollywood #legend (at Capitol Studios) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqYq2n7nGD_/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=69ij173blm4z
