My Birthday, Christmas & Anniversary present! It's no secret that Lauren spoils me more then she should. If you've known us long, then you know my dream has been the other 2 bands for my wedding set. Næste stop: Pink Lake. Fra hovedvejen der strækker sig mellem The Grampians til færgen der gik mod Kangaroo Island, gjorde vi vores sidste ophold inden vi skulle ud og sejle. Pink Lake er et helt unikt naturfænomen, som opstår i en række søer i Australien, og få steder i Amerika. Søerne får deres lyserøde farve, da koncentrationen af himalayasalt (saltet findes hyppigt i himalayabjergene) er særlig høj i disse søer. Det høje saltindhold som vandet indeholder, forhindrer fisk og andre organismer i at kunne overleve i søen. Få bakterier og alger har dog tilpasset sig klimaet i den salte sø, og netop disse alger og bakterier er røde, eller producerer et rødt farvestof der giver søen dens klare farve. I starten troede vi søen var tonet rødt i forbindelse med et kemikalieudslip eller lignende, med åbenbart har naturen flere hemmeligheder gemt oppe i ærmet.. Der kan man bare se. :D
