im gonna try to keep this as coherent as possible because I want to get all my opinions out so I dont have to split this up into a million posts, first ima talk ab the video and then the follow up;

So starting off with the inital video there was so many things blatantly wrong in the aspect of lore regardless of her opinion but thats not what I really want to talk about. Her takes about Navia and calling her slutty was insane btw as shes said that "seeing these characters makes her objectified as a woman" but then shes also objectifying Navia, which i found really confusing ??? using sexist terms to fight sexism does not make any sense. As far as her takes on Columbina I once again similarly to Navia I thought was really strange to make fun of her lack of social abilities (ill open this can of worms in a moment) instead of her actual writting issues (ill make a separte post for this). She then proceeds to shit on lauma for her outfit (which I mean is fair, i thought it was corny) but what is really interesting was candybug talking about how she looked weird when rerir snatched her up, which what do you expect her to look like ??? stone cold ?? both flins and aether were there making the exact same faces or whatever and as they should, its not meant to be a sexual situation shes just deadass in pain lmfao.

Lastly, she just has insane double standards about glazing lohen (im so pissed about this she set lohen mains back like 600 years we probably have worse rep than scara mains now) who is probably the most morally questionable playable character in the game. Lohen himself is just fanservice, theres nothign wrong with it. There is however an issue when you dont acknoloedge it which she refused to do. Lohen is literally out here torturing and drugging people all while being weird as fuck ab it but this is not adressed ? NOW dont get me wrong, women are sexualised WAYYYYYY more than men in this game and its not even a competition but to shit on the women over the company is just really weird. I also like found it interesting that she said the women do not have personalities which i agree some are literally bland as fuck (look at yelan and nefer) but lets not act like alhaitham and diluc arent vanilla toothpaste3000.

Now the real issue here and the worst offender of this whole thing which made this whole drama blow up is her calling Linnea a pedophile and then proceeding to tell people who find her autistic-coded/relate to her because of it to find some better representation which is insane btw. You might ask "dearest almond, what could possibly make her say that ????" and to you I answer "no fucking clue". Becuase her main reasoning is because Linnea is obsessed with melusines which are childlike animal creature thingies in fontaine and that she fantasizes about them rubbing up on her and she has weird behaviors about wanting to grab them and whatnot. Honestly this has got to be the most insane shit cooked up in the bullshit factory. Linnea has a special interest in melusines and has a cuteness agression about them, nothing about this says shes a pedophile and this is an insane accusation to make. If you do not know what I am talking about I'll link the trailer and you can make a judgement for yourself.

What I find so wrong with her arguement on Linnea is that shes attributing her autistic-coded behaviors to pedophilia. And you might say "dearest almond, linnea isnt even confirmed autistic this is just speculation !" And to you dear viewer I would say "Yes I agree she is not confirmed to be autistic but the behaviors and things she does is found in some autistic people" and yeah even if she wasnt autistic-coded at all the things she said about her is still geniunely insane. And what kind of annoys me about this is that some people are like "its just a game" (these kind of arguements) and YES usually this would be a valid take unless is it something serious like this , how you view fictional characters is indicative of how you view people in the real world this arguement shines true especially when talking about lolicons who usually say "its just a video game character" but its less about the character and more of what the character represents. Calling linnea a creep and a freak for her autistic behaviors is very telling of how she might feel about some real autistic people. Now, not all autistic people behave like linnea obviously and I'm not saying just becuase youre autistic doesnt mean you cant be a creep which is absolutely untrue, there are plenty of autistic creeps out there but they arent a creep becuase theyre autistic thats just their own vile behaviors. And circling back to columbina right quick, she also shitted on her for lack of social skills and surprisingly enough alot of autistic people relate to columbina aswell which I also found very interesting.

Lastly I just found it really interesting in her follow up video she was basically saying "I work with autistic people and there nothing like her and its bad representation" Miss Candybug, you do not get to decide what is good rep or not I believe that is up to us and not you, and to speak for us is really annoying you are not doing us a good deed by shitting on linnea lmfao. Her whole follow up just felt really weird like we as autistic people dont know good representation and shes doing us a favor, no youre fucking not.

And lastly she talked about how shes been getting harassed/death threats which yeah obviously is never okay and people shouldnt do that. But I am free to talk ab whatever on my own page, alot of outsiders do not really understand the gravity of this situation shes not getting harassed for an "opinion" shes getting called out for the harmful shit shes saying. Now obviously there are some losers out there dm'ing her and shit but that is besides the point, bringing up worse to counter bad doesnt really change much. But thats all I really wanted to talk about I will be editing this post probably in the future if I forgot anything.

i'm not even going to lie and say "maybe just poorly worded" because it's not, y'all just dont like hearing someone not express their opinion in an overly polite way, tip toeing on ice not to offend anyone.

and don't get me STARTED on the controversies that everyone is flaming her for. y'all said her take on linnea was a massive reach, but everyones take on the video was just reaching too. like, i read a comment hating on her for saying navia is a slut, then when i got to that part in the video she actually was COMPLIMENTING her design. she just said that it's a sluttier version of a french gown, but anyone with a brain can realize she just means a more revealing version.

"she was being misogynistic" but HOW was she being misogynistic??? can you explain that?

"she only mentioned female fanservice and not the male's" unless i'm mistaken... even in the video she explained why she'll be focusing more on the females. and how is it misogynistic to complain about only making female characters to cater to the MALE GAZE ?

"she made racist claims" in no point in the video did i even get the idea of "that was racist," because wasn't she literally complaining about hoyoverses idea of representation? once again, this was just jumping too conclusions.

"her linnea take was ableist" this one i don't understand because i never even bothered to look into linnea or do her story quest, but being autistic doesn't excuse breaking consent or boundaries. i CAN say it def sounds like linnea isn't a pedo in the least, but candybbug never said that! she said it was creepy and a little disrespectful for GENSHIN making her basically objectify the melusines after being told to .. not. (feel free to fact check me on this one)

then everyone getting mad at the follow up video because it gave "i'm sorry that i'm right" vibes, but i'm HAPPY she stood with her opinions in the end instead of letting people bully her off the entire internet. because in the end, IT'S A VIDEO GAME CRITICIZING POST. this is just so unserious, i feel silly even posting this rant, but really WHAT ARE WE MAD FOR???

you guys literally bullied this girl into not even wanting to play genshin anymore. the problem is that y'all are just BIASED. you guys are so insanely biased that you'll jump to conclusions that you KNOW are wrong if it means defending genshin. the genshin community right now is reminding me of some huge cult. if you really didn't like a take, debate it??? are death threats and hate posts necessary?
