To reply to that anon asking about Dottore, and add my own thoughts:
My issue with it isn't what Dottore has or hasn't done, it's just why is HE always specifically in the hot seat when we know other characters have done awful things? Wanderer for example never addresses it, just erases himself from the world's memory. Arlecchino and Sandrone aren't innocent either.
Rerir got a bland something but he's in eternal time-out so I doubt we'll ever get a real conclusion to that.
They are scared to make their villains be villains or some shit I swear.
When the FUCK did you people hear me excuse the other harbingers for their crimes huh? I fucking despise all of them, I just hate dottore the most. I hate him because he's abused children. "So has arlecchino!!" Yeah. Hate her for it too, what's your point?
On top of that, he hasn't even attempted to repent for his actions, nor has he faced enough consequences from it.
Wanderer's deeds stem from his betrayals, past trauma and oh! Dottore experimented on him too, promised to make him a god and put 6 pipes in his body. Wanderer deals with the trauma of never being remembered by his loved ones, and the guilt of his past actions.
Arlecchino takes in the children who are shunned for being criminals. She takes in the kids without a home and gives them one. Yes, she sends them out on more missions and makes them commit crimes. Fault her for that. I don't give a shit. But it's important to note this is what she grew up with. This is what she was raised to do when SHE was a part of the house of the hearth.
And hey, let's not forget that she actually allows them the choice to leave. They lose their memories from their time at the house and are allowed to live normal lives.
Tartaglia is just fucked up. He fell into the abyss as a teenager, I think that would mess with my psyche too but I still hate him because of something else. Oh, and he doesn't abuse children.
I don't think I have to tell you about every single harbinger in this way but let's get back to dottore.
Dottore experimented on kids. He abused them. Killed them. Treated them as less than trash. He made his own colleagues take part in some of these experiments to the point where none of them (besides his yaoi situationship) have anything good to say about him. Everyone feels uncomfortable around him for a fucking reason.
Rerir acknowledged his actions, dottore did not.
Arlecchino provided a safe way out for the children under her care, dottore did not.
Wanderer and rerir feel guilty for their actions and are punished accordingly for it but dottore is not. He just keeps coming back. He dies? Nope! It was a clone. Wanderer removed himself from the world's memories and found himself completely alone. When his memories were wiped, he lived an honest life. His true nature shined through. That proved scaramouche was only the product of his trauma but even after regaining his memories, he actively moved towards the right path.
Dottore, on the other hand, destroyed irminsul. Why? Cause he wanted to. He's a piece of shit, plain and simple. He's like William Afton. He keeps coming back. I want to strangle him, honestly.
