Preparing for a 21-day Lockdown
The President of South Africa recently announced a 21-day lockdown for the entire country, save for "essential" workers. Grocery shops will remain open, pharmacists will continue to dispense medication, and medical personnel will continue to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.
In my lifetime, this is new and scary - unprecedented. Life will change (if only for a short while). Businesses will suffer in the long term. And I, as a Candidate Attorney, have begun working remotely. The law firm I have been signed at closed on 20 March 2020. But I took the weekend for myself in order to relax and regroup after a stressful few months. I think I am both emotionally, mentally and physically drained. But like a disciplined soldier, I will march on.
I have taken home some work - some work but what I really mean is I have taken home every file from my desk and I will likely have more than enough work to keep me busy until 16 April. But I see this lockdown as an opportunity to reassess my wants and needs. To rethink where I want to be in the next few years. I think I want to be in law? But I am unsure whether I am where I should be? So, personally, I would like to look at this 21-day lockdown as an opportunity to really decide where I want to be and how to get there! It will be 21-days of self-love and self-care and finding who I want to be in the end.
With that being said, my posts may likely come across as feeble ramblings of my mind - that's because they are. I have no cooking clue how to write blog posts or how to entice people to read or pay attention to my content. But perhaps it is already a step in the right direction to be expressing my thoughts in some way.
And, with that being said, bear with me.
