Product testing phase is now over and it's time to head back to London to digest what we have learnt regarding the new LEONIDAS 5024. In short a great watch was built by the team which kept perfect time even when faced with extremely harsh weather conditions, the worst of which being a 24 hour period exposing the test models to an average wind chill temperature of -40; something we could not have endured ourselves.
The test timepieces have the model number 5024S engraved on the back distinguishing them from the retail models which will carry the standard product code of 5024. The S model comes with sequential numbering from 1-5 (we had 5 test models). We will be releasing nbr 1 of 5 for sale on Saturday. The other 4 may (or may not) be released for general sale sporadically over the next few weeks.
Conclusions: Why oh why did we decide to test the product against extreme cold weather? Next time - the extreme beach test; let's see how it copes with that pesky sand and annoying sunshine.
