Who Is "The Hip Hop Jib Op"
GERARD ”GRIPP” RICHARDSON, is an AWARD-WINNING camera crane operator based out of Columbia, SC. His career credits as a professional camera crane operator run deep like the Black Sea. Filming superstar Shaun White, in 2014 Winter Olympics and then later as he took home the Gold Medal in 2018 was none other than mind blowing. This type of story only shows Gripp caliber of work experience and skill set.
Started out in 1997 as a music producer, he knew early that music & film would play a very important part to his creative success. So in 2012, Gripp would leave South Carolina for film school headed out west to Los Angeles CA. Little did he know film school which ended up taking a back seat was due to the enormous amount of work that started coming at Gripp once he learned the CamMate System for the first time. This guy just would not stop with his persistence to learn everything about that system.
While still attending classes in late 2012 early 2013, Gripp lands an invite to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi Russia. Getting that first hand experience in the big league with billions of people watching your work live in real time at the same time around the world was only the beginning. After completing that trip to Sochi would only open up the flood gates to landing gigs here and there everyehre around the country for the next two years.
So in 2017, he returns to South Carolina only to connect with the only owner of a CamMate System in South Carolina. Teaming up with 7Cinematics, in 2018 at Lost Lands lead to a successfully streamed live taping of the Red Hot Chili Peppers from the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo, Egypt. Also with 7Cinematic, Gripp successfully completed the first Season to “American Music Spotlight” TV Series which airs later this year 2020.
