There is a knock on your office door. You open it to find Elias, standing beside a bright-eyed teenager. They can’t be older than 17 and have an air of innocence about them that gives you a pang of envy. Elias smiles at you in his unnerving way. “Hello Gerry. I hope you got my email about the new intern starting today?”
He sighs at your confused look. “I suppose not. This is Camden. They will be shadowing you and the other archival staff for a week as the first part of their internship. You may go about your business as usual, just show them what you do. Oh, and please do make sure the others are informed. I highly doubt they read my emails either.”
With that, Elias left, shutting the door behind him and leaving you with an eager-looking intern who has no idea what they’ve gotten themself into.
