Cornelia Boardman wrote of her nephew in a letter to her mother in 1829, βpoor little John Frederick has had another turn with his teeth, he now has four coming, the Dr. gave him calomel yesterday & he appears better today, but his stomach is in a dreadful state, dear little pet he suffers a great deal & will till he gets all his teeth, Eliza says his Father suffered in the same way.β Calomel was a mercury chloride formula that was used to treat many different diseases in the 19th century. It was used in teething powders into the 1950s.Β
Welcome to the Calomel Queue. This is the first of three comic installations where I test out brushes and limited color palettes.
"I know, I can use the Queue to not overwhelm my small audience with the crossposting dump" well I have to post the latest item first because the farther it gets from Christmas, the stranger seeinng it gets.

i like naming my ocs after things like calomel(mineral) and azoth/antimony(elements altho azoth isnt real iirc) and spargo(british journalist/muckraker john spargo) etc etc etc etc. so fun
