Tea (usually Assam or chamomile). Itās a comforting luxury that I value along with cold, clean water I can get out of my fridge at any point. That never ceases to be an incredible thing to me.
Watching movies like Local Hero, One of Our Aircraft is Missing, and I Know Where Iām Going! make me calm for some reason. Theyāre relaxing and engaging at the same time.Ā
Listening to the Local Hero soundtrack and to Ravi Shankarās music and teachings.Ā
Reading unique and niche literature. Writing and reading Newmann fan fic. And just writing in little notebooks.
TheĀ noise generator appĀ - I love thunder. It makes me feel alive and oddly comforted despite the possible threat to my safety.Ā
Catching and releasing critters (frogs, toads, and grasshoppers) because they are living things with heartbeats and their own lives. They are precious. (grasshoppers have a heart-like structure)
Watching videos of Octopuses. So peaceful and frightening.Ā
Growing plants and being in nature. Few things calm me down faster.Ā
Playing Monument Valley. Video games and board games can be very triggering for me but something about this is a perfect mix of thinking and centering.Ā
Swimming and floating....Iāve forgotten how to relax these days but I grew up going to the sea (see picture of my fave rocky beach) and Iām always desperate to swim. It makes me feel alarmingly small in the universe but alive.Ā
Snugglinā in bed. Duh.Ā
