3+ hcs for yuuki & your char | kinda old but if u wanna i’m down

yuuki and calme don’t talk much to each other.it sounds strange, but most of their interactions outside of when they have to have a talk is composed of mostly physical touch. a prod, then a point to something calme wants yuuki to look at. or yuuki tugging at calme’s jacket to borrow it, because he’s not prepared for kalosian autumns. perhaps, it is in part due to kalosian pride to never speak too much english.

yuuki and calme have gone on a touristy trip around lumiose before.this is in part due to yuuki’s first time in the region. calme showed him around, and they got roped into doing extremely touristy things. cheesy shots with them leaning against the prism tower? check. eaten things calme usually wouldn’t because they’re overpriced as hell? also check.

“Hey, are you from this region?”

He holds up a Clauncher, who seemed rather obvious to the boy. Or the fact that he’s being held. Or...to everything, really.

Note to self: Avoid Steven

The voice has him turning, and he spots an unfamiliar female beside him. Almost too close really, and it has him inwardly reeling away. “ Huh? Oh, I– ” The map gets his attention a bit more after her initial speech. It’s right up at his face and—he pushes it down slightly so he could take a peek at it. It’s matches his own nearly perfectly. “That’s where I’m headed, actually.”

A close look at his messenger bag, and she would be able to see the tourist papers sticking out of one of the pockets.

Oh, dang. It’s hard not to be disappointed when it turns out that the other guy isn’t a local. If only she could tell the difference between Unovans and not-Unovans! Leaf takes a breath, and peers over at his copy of the map. It’s exactly the same -- except for the fact that the name addressed on it is different. 

Calme? What kind of name is that? But then again, Leaf isn’t an everyday, common name. She brushes aside the thought, and smiles at him. She’s not supposed to know his name yet.

Already waiting at very cafe Yuuki had mentioned, Calme busied himself with his supplies, going over them one more time. The healing supplies and pokeballs were sufficient enough for a normal venture, but the details of it all would change what he would need to keep. Having some space for anything in addition was key, so he kept only his starter on him this time around. The others were easily able to swap out if needed.

A waiter arrived with coffee, placing the saucer and mug in front of both chairs: his and what would be Yuuki’s. Another two dishes would follow, something a delicate pastries that he knew the Devon trainer wouldn’t find over in Hoenn. Calme tilted his hat as a thank you before returning to what he was doing.

He zipped up his bag and set it by his chair, careful not to get it dirtier than it needs to be.

It was then when he’d saw a familiar figure approach. Their clothes far too cool for Kalosian weather.

He’d say that arriving in Lumiose was an experience, but monthly trips to the region had dulled whatever excitement he had had the first few times. Now, it was business, and nothing more.

Through the window, he noticed that several stores were having a sale -- it wasn’t like he could afford Kalosian fashion, anyway. He turned back to the driver as they came to a slow halt; Yuuki paid the fees, and got out of the taxi.

There Calme was, already at the café. Were Kalosians always punctual? Never mind that.

Yuuki shifted his messenger bag containing the parcel, and waved in greeting.

“Hey. Sorry you had to wait for me,” he said, taking the seat directly opposite Calme. “Here are the -- oh.”

Calme had already gotten them drinks and pastries. They could enjoy it once business was done, because his job was always the most important thing on Yuuki’s plate.

Sometimes, there was a flash of lightning behind those lifeless eyes. Someone he knew used to call it a ‘manic glint’ and would say something about ‘battling potential,’ but Cal thought very little of it. He wasn’t the one looking at himself, and therefore, he wouldn’t know.

The match had been close, with the foreigner’s team claiming victory despite Cal’s unorthodox strategies.

“Good match,” he smiled, conceding the fact that his opponent had been a good fight. 

He rarely battled outside of the Trainer’s House, but then again, he almost never left the Trainer’s House if he could help it.
