Detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross has to hunt down a killer who had the detective square in his sights.

Cross, based on the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson, stars Aldis Hodge as the titular detective. The series also stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Alona Tal, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Ryan Eggold, and Eloise Mumford.

Ep 8: You had me at Motherfucker oooh poor Alec, he came home to find Nana.  His life has been filled with so much heartbreak and death.

Nancy is amazing...  (sigh)  In Ep 7 the hubby said that Elle was bad, and I have to agree that she was acting very very oddly.  But there was no way to connect a motive or reasoning.  So we both dismissed it, and since I really liked Nancy, it took until she suggested the remote cabin, for me to see the writing on the wall.

Damon was so brave and clever to get the picture to Elle so that she knows Nancy is not a good woman.  The sheer amount of time Nancy put into her life in order to get to Cross is mindblowing.  She is harboring that much hatred?  Pulling her son along for her revenge; it's sick and sad and so disturbing. (Nitpick: How was she not affected by the drug??)

ahhh the reconciliation between Sampson and Cross  💜💜💜  The sheer honesty Cross was able to convey was heartfelt and deep.  And now the two of them are going to save their family.

Damn, Elle was amazing, blocking the taser and getting the kids out of the house. Big fight in the cabin, Sampson shot but still coming to Cross's aid.  Nancy deciding to burn herself alive instead in of facing the consequences of her actions.  (Peter is also a real victim, years spent feeling guilty for something that wasn't his fault, his sister and mother killed themselves.  He's not innocent but he wasn't set up for success either.)

Do love that they took Ramsey's power away from him by erasing his killings and now he has nothing.  Burning the book on stream was kind of genius.  I don't love the way the officers were talking about him (being crazy).  I feel like they should've found a way for him to be convicted but not celebrated for the murders.

Do love seeing Alec getting the help he needs, paying amends to the man he assaulted, it makes a foundation for a clean slate (and for whatever comes up in season 2).

A little nitpick is the lighting in the episode, so much of it was darker than it needed to be. Notes to directors and lighting experts, have confidence in the material and light it so people can see it.

and how could i forget - caleb elijah and von francis banks arrived via c-section at 2:21 and 2:31p.m. just four days after eddie and jordyn’s wedding. they are so strong and did well enough to come home after just one week in the NICU, and penny is recovering well at home.
