☠ - five times my muse thought about hitting yours, and the one time they did.
THE FIRST TIME rapunzel nearly does hit him. right in the shoulder, as though his shoulder was calling out to her. but she resists, reminding herself that her initial reaction isn’t like her. she doesn’t do violence, and she would rather turn to any other solution than resort to it even if it’s her last choice. even if she gets to that point, she would much rather go another route. so she falls silent to hear him out, even if he’d been posing as one of her best friends. even if he’d sent him into torment for an entire summer.
THE SECOND TIME silas had gotten to her last nerve, had been talking about being the most powerful witch of all time. rapunzel half wished that she could just transfer her powers over to him so he could fulfill the wish he had for her, but even she knew he wouldn’t accept that. he wouldn’t allow it, he took too much pride in teaching her. but she was struggling, trying to think of whether or not that’s what she wanted or if she wanted to do something a little more normal with her life.
THE THIRD TIME rapunzel was uncharacteristically angry. angry at the town, and just angry at everything. angry at the fact that no matter what they simply couldn’t catch a break, and seeing that silas was making use of her spare room, he’d been giving her his input. instead of lashing out - because that’s just simply not what she did - she let out a groan of frustration.
THE FOURTH TIME rapunzel almost hit him over something stupid. completely mundane, and for the first time it was the most normal dilemma she’d had in years. she’d made a fresh batch of cookies, and she’d made them perfectly; so that they were crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. it was no surprise to her that they’d gone as quickly as she’d baked them, but she was saving the last one for herself. for her friday treat; only when she’d gone to reach out to the plate it was gone.
THE FIFTH TIME silas almost had it coming to him was during one of his Spell Bootcamps, as she’d begun to call them. she’d been working hard, harder than she’d ever worked when it came to her magic studies, and yet she continued to get the spell wrong. it was a simple one and perhaps that was the case; she thought too much into it, got too into her own head. so deep that she simply couldn’t get out. instead of taking it out on his shoulder - that same spot that just seemed to call her name - she just simply pouted and told him that she was giving up, and would become one of those cheap fortune tellers. in true, dramatic, rapunzel fashion.
WHEN SHE FINALLY DID HIT HIM in that sweet spot on the shoulder they’d shared a sweet moment. they were sat on the couch watching some random sitcom on the television - one that rapunzel actually liked. one that she genuinely thought was hysterical. silas, on the other hand, couldn’t keep his commentary to himself. he continuously asked questions which normally didn’t bother her, it was when they got excessive. when he was questioning why she thought it was so funny - and it was because it was mindless humor that didn’t need much thought behind it - but instead of giving an answer, she just laughed and gave his shoulder a small slap.
