Teyvat is a land of mysteries, but also a place that she has awakened after the final countdown. The end of a Herrscher of Human: Ego was a beautiful one, tears were shed and love was given to her despite everything. A natural born Herrscher who was able to become a human, the existence who loved humanity with her whole being without any regrets. Now, too, does she walk the path of this heavenly (in her eyes) land only to find familiarities that made her heart swell with delight, warmth, and adoration. The people once cherished and beloved, hopefully living a life new without suffering. 

You’ve told me I’m a persistent one before, Su, that I never changed my path no matter where you’ve looked. You were right, I always was and always will be persistent. 

Al-Haitham is not Su she knew from her era, her world, but she senses the same calmness in him - the same noble, pristine soul. A soul of a comrade she adored, one of thirteen whom she loved so tenderly. One of the souls she was happy to lay her life on the line and sacrificed herself to give them a brighter future. Her gaze turning far gentler and sweeter at the sight of him, always acting as if they’ve known each other for hundred upon hundreds years. The fact that he is not the same is brought up through his actions, it makes her giggle when the man wipes away an eyelash off her cheek. Her elven ears twitch in excitement as she giggles, sweetness and honey spilling off her tongue. Her cheeks flush ever so lightly from her happiness as she claps her hands together.

It was funny what catching up over drinks could dredge in people, but Itto had always been an ardent believer in the fact that a little bit of drink and good company could unveil the hidden aspects of a deeper, truer self that existed beneath the public mask most people tended to wear. This seemed no different, as the astute scholar had been engaged with a topic regarding how Itto had been unaffected by losing his Vision despite the severity of loss most people endured when theirs was forcefully taken. But, as the drinks continued to pour, Al-Haytham’s steady but convivial tone dipped and he mentioned worry over his friend that almost hadn’t escaped from Inazuma at the time.

Then, in a hushed expression of gratitude had the scholar tightly embraced him, mentioning how the Arataki Gang helping the architect escape helped him escape without losing something important to him. 

The Oni gradually fought through the flush and slowly embraced him back, before it tightened into a reassuring bear hug. He understood that feeling, of losing a precious friend to ‘almost’ on one too many occasions. Of narrowly cheating death and losing the first friend he’d ever made, despite an ocean separating them in their adult lives.
