Cafri Premium Beer - South Koreas Verison of Corona
Cafri Premium Beer – South Koreas Verison of Corona
As the title suggests this post is about the popular beer Cafri which is a local (and cheaper) version of the worldwide favorite Corona (from Mexico). Although Corona is also widely available in South Korea like other imported beers it can be expensive. So this Korean version from OB (Oriental Brewery) is a nice alternative.

South Korea’s Oriental Brewery (OB Beer) is re-branding its Cafri beers through the creation of new artistic labels created by hot young local artists.
Oriental Brewery features twelve new labels for the Cafri line, which started on March 6th.
Some of the cool collaborators include Steve J & Yoni P, a designer duo we're all familar with; modern folk artist Art Nom; and Sticky Monster Lab, the Seoul-based design company known for its eccentric ideas.
This is now just about aesthetics. OB says the re-amp's goal is an emphasis on the "smooth, fresh taste" of Cafri. And what better way to do this than through design and humor?
The company plans to release making-of videos of the “Cafri Art Collaboration” through YouTube. A fashion show, art exhibition, and seminars featuring the participating artists are also due to take place next month.
“Participating artists each brought his/her unique artistry and vision to express Cafri’s zestful image in a creative way,” said a representative for OB. “Through the collaboration project OB hopes to reach out to our younger consumers and communicate with them in a better way.”
Since drinking in Korea is such a huge part of the culture, I think this was a smart way to invest. The fusion of style and beer epitomizes modern Korea. I always love a good collaboration. What do you think of this refreshing idea? Do you think more companies will follow suit. --Lauren source: http://enkr.blouinartinfo.com
