Caffè Florian in Venice
It was established in 1720 and is the oldest coffee house in continuous operation in Italy, and the oldest in the world. Lord Byron, Marcel Proust and Charles Dickens were frequent visitors. Also Goethe, Casanova, Rousseau, Modigliani, Hemingway, Stravinsky and Brodsky visited it. Its rooms were decorated by the best artists of Venice.
