A nyc cafe (which apparently no longer exists because the rent was too high, which is a shame, it was a lovely interior, lots of fancy wall mouldings, CAFE EDISON, google image it, it was eye candy)

The reviews were good, it developed a loyal cult following, and it filled seats night after night. But in the end, Cafe Edison followed a familiar script in New York real estate: The scuffed midtown diner, beloved by Broadway types and beyond, announced it would be closing on Sunday.

NYC’s Iconic Cafe Edison, Known as the Polish Tea Room, to Close This Weekend

Cafe Edison, the beloved New York City Jewish restaurant known for cheap, comforting Eastern European food, will officially close its doors December 21, Vanishing New York reports. Known as the Polish Tea Room, the long-time theater district staple will end its 34-year run at the Edison Hotel Sunday night, staying open “until the last person leaves.”

This is happening tomorrow, starting at 10am. There will be politicians there, like Gale Brewer, the Manhattan borough president, and there will be a press conference. I look forward to the blintzes!
