Proudly announcing a new knitting wip π
After months of pattern searching, brainstorming, colour choosing, swatch sampling, and excel charting, I have finally cast on a set of matching jumpers for me and my partner! π₯³
(and then frogged and reknit about 4 times coz the alternate colours showing as purl on the right side of the ribbing was not the vibe, and also I forgot 2 stitches in my cast on π€¦)
Pattern is TBC, I'll create it as I knit. Took inspiration patterns (like the Marella vest, and Adrenal Jumper), random inspiration cable photos or charts on Pinterest. I also want armpit gussets like a traditional Guernsey, coz they look neat as hell.

Mine is the purple main colour, with alternative main colour orange and supplementary alternate colour yellow.
Partner chose the main colour blue, and main alternate colour yellow and supplementary alternate colour orange.
All wool is from Bendigo Woollen Mills, rustic tweed and Luxury for alternate colours, all 8ply.
Pattern will be the same for both. Ideally fit will be well shaped to the body, small amount of positive ease but not loose.
This way they are the same and connect nicely with colours, but it's our own main colour π I've been working on this concept for over a year, I'm so excited and nervous to make them good.
(Bonus bonus, after dividing the alternate colours into 16 balls each, I'm storing them in bags to keep track of what belongs to each jumper π)
Now I know myself, I'll work in stops and starts, and will reach a point, decide I hate something about it, have to frog, and then put it down for a few months. Especially if I've made my neckline too high. So this will be finished when it's finished. But so so so happy to have made a start!!
