I've been reading a lot of think pieces and general Internet discourse surrounding Channel 4's "Utopia" recently (bc i miss it and still really wish it got a third season), and I really gotta roll my eyes at the people who dismiss it as being "ecofascist".
You know, even though the only people who subscribe to ecofascist ideals are the absolutely horrible bad guys, a dementia-riddled scientist with genocide-related trauma, and a guy who is established in his first scene as a level 7 susceptible conspiracy theorist.
Literally everyone else wants to stop the ecofascists and thinks that their plans are fucking evil.

ok i loved this show but how do u guys feel abt philip being the worlds most white passing romani man idk it didn't sit right w me like it's easy to wonder if he's jewish from s2e1 onwards and so they're like ah no he's actually [thing we Didn't depict in the show] bet u didn't see that coming . and like marius was funny but it felt a bit .. let's not get too cute w the racism jokes when u guys cast not 1 but 2 famous white guys in the role of philip. idk is this not a big thing
