Love love love and sadness and bittersweet love that some of the last things Molly got to do included helping his friends win a drinking contest, making sure Fjord got to sleep safely in their shared room that night, getting Yasha a silk flower for her collection, enjoying the fireworks in Hupperdook, having Caleb call him cute and 'the only magic one here', performing circus acrobatics with Yasha one last time, killing a homicidal automaton, taking the initiatve to bargain for the release of the Schusters and giving Kiri a new chance at a family, finally connecting with Beau over past shenanigans, and doing his absolute damndest to rescue his friends
What a life of unapologetic audacious joy he lived <3
Some air of doom must have been hanging about the studio when c2e26 aired because they couldn’t have thrown up more death flags if this had been a written show.
- Molly declaring that nothing good would happen and this would be a cursed trip.
- The cute little moment where Molly does a mediocre card trick for that little boy, which is honestly one of his softest gestures as a character.
- Molly generally taking the lead on keeping them moving and making decisions while the other three are kind of squabbling and butting heads about it, which, since he’s the one that goes down, implies that the only members of the M9 left are the most dysfunctional and least likely to pull through this.
- Similarly, Nott obviously asked Keg if she could heal since they didn’t have any anymore, which also underlines how precarious their situation is.
- Molly and Beau going on watch and having one last, poignant conversation after a majority of their relationship was spent butting heads.
Truly wild how perfectly it went down; not tied into anyone’s backstories, not some climax to a grand arc they could feel coming, just that freaky serendipity C2 apparently just had in spades.
Okay so now that Molly is officially dead, did he ever actually say the thing about leaving places better than they found them??
The only time I heard it said was Fjord in episode 24 (3:27, "I would really like the opportunity to leave this place better than we found it") But also I could be wrong and might have missed something.
It's just crazy to me that this becomes such a big part of Molly's legacy when it really has no relationship to his actual personality while he was alive
It’s framed so perfectly.

give it time, give it time
matt: all right, so go ahead and roll a stealth check.
sam: natural 20.
matt: you teleport through campaigns. you're somehow in campaign one.
sam: great. ooh. it's not as emotionally deep as this one.
taliesin: give it time, give it time.
Season One Finale
So, given we're not only gonna get pre-Trostenwald content but extra plot concerning Hot Boi, I think one of two things is going to happen.
Either season one is going to be really, really squished—too squished than it can be to establish these characters like it needs to—in order to get to Glory Run at the end of season one.
Which I would not care for.
Or.
Glory Run is farther down the road, and the Zauberspire attack and its repercussions—which connect to Hot Boi—is the much more likely candidate for the season one finale.
I know which one I'd prefer.
And I know which one might be more likely.
Here's hoping.
C2 Rewatch: E26
The fact that Beau and Molly literally do their exchange of life philosophies in this episode is so.
