Nein Again Episode 25 - "Divergent Paths"
Oh no Liam is trapped in the screen! They do their best but the vibes are always a bit impaired when someone has to video call in :(
(14) Lol it is accurate that Jester would refuse to give up the haversack if she were here
(40) Molly why are you so interested in Caleb's molasses? Do you think he's using it for sex reasons?? What can you even do with molasses other cook? (and magic)
(1:00) Its so funny how much effort they put into stealing a single bucket of tar which is barely worth anything (and that also barely works anyway)
(1:16) I love this conversation. The open admission that Fjord is the only one with charisma, Beau's immediate back up plan of just bribing them, and then the causal reminder that Caleb is actually very charming when he puts his mind to it (which Beau clearly doesn't believe because she brings up Suggestion instead). I love unexpected high charisma Caleb so much
(1:44) We have another use of ball bearings that immediate back-fires. Beau drops them on the ground to disrupt the robot and they get shot out from the under wheels like tiny bullets instead
(2:43) And now she must collect them from the ground lol
Also we have an actual number! 814 ball bearings!
Tbh i'm surprised Matt gave her that many back. She was clearly about to say that she picks up like 10 and then gives up. I cannot imagine picking up 800+ ball bearing from the floor, which is also covered in bone fragments and blood
(2:51) Kudos to Beau for knowing exactly who she wants and just fucking going for. Like of course she's still definitely in lust and not love but still I admire her absolute shamelessness xD
(3:19) Beau: "Can we keep each other straight?" Says the lesbian to the bisexual lol
No but really I love this moment. I love watching Caleb reaching out to Beau, recognizing the desire in her to make things better and also acknowledging it in himself. I love that Beau agrees but also makes him agree to work together to stay on the level and look out for each other. I love the top table so much and this moment just emphasizes it so much, I love these checks and balances that they're setting up cause they don't trust themselves yet. Also this moment kind of feels like Caleb settling into reality a little bit instead of living in this perfect past/future that he wants to create. As much as he is obviously working towards time travel still here, he is starting to care about the present world as well and making it better. I just love them so much you guys
(3:38) Obviously a large part of the reason for Fjord, Jester, and Yasha are captured is because they needed to be away from the table for a while, but also I feel like this moment really raises the stakes and the intensity of the campaign. Matt chose a really juicy narrative reason to pull them out of the party. Also emotionally devastating and heart-wrenching
