Jake: Uh, Hardwon sort of, uh, kicks the dirt and shuffles his feet. [Caldwell, Jake, and Emily laugh.] And, uh, tugs on Moonshine's sleeve.
[Emily laughs.]
Moonshine: Uh-- uh, sorry, yeah? Yeah, Hardwon?
[Caldwell laughs.]
Hardwon: Uh-- uh-- just-- uhh.
Moonshine: Yeah?
Hardwon: I just wanted to ask…
Moonshine: Yeah?
Hardwon: Um, well here's the thing. Um. Moonshine, when-- when I left Irondeep, I-- I didn't know where I fit in. And then I met you. And… you didn't just let me in, you brought me in. And you thought I was good.
Moonshine: (warmly) You are good.
Hardwon: And I wanna keep on living in that world! I-- I wanna be a part of the Crick! I just wanna live next door to-- to Ol' Cobb. I wanna learn from Maw Maw. [Moonshine laughs in delight.] And, hell, I wanna keep on hanging out with you, so…
Moonshine: It-- (laughs)
Hardwon: If you'll find me a stump…
Moonshine: (touched) Hardwon, I would be honored. You know, Melf actually left a stump, it-- it's a bit of a fixer-upper, but I would tend to think that fixin' things up is your forte!
[Caldwell laughs.]
Hardwon: (emotional) I saw Melf's stump and I actually thought it was perfect, so let's do it!
[Emily laughs.]
Murph: Yeah, you saw Melf had a stump right next to Cobb. [Caldwell: oooh] So you can be neighbors with Cobb and live at the Crick.
Emily: Aw.
Jake: (laughs) Wow.
Caldwell: It's a fixer-upper-decker.
Moonshine: Hardwon, I promise, you are gonna love our lazy afternoons and our rowdy evenings!
[Caldwell laughs.]
Hardwon: I truly can't wait.
Emily: (laughs, touched) I give him a big hug!
Jake: (tearful) I hug her back.
