It didnât take long for her to reach the Hospital wing, and once she did she noticed Chloe. âHello.â Willow greeted the nurse, and her newly found out sister in law. Willow told her what she was doing there, and she obliged the request of refilling antibiotics for Jaceâs wound, once she jotted it down for records. The two were talking, about small things, Willow invited Chloe to have an evening in with them, she was sure Jace wouldnât mind - but in that moment, she felt it again.. the pain from the other night. Just like that Willowâs skin went pale, her knees buckled and she grabbed Chloeâs arm before she went down. âWhoa! Wilow, Willow.â the smaller blonde called out as her eyes bugged out, catching her sister in law before she could hit the ground.
Chloe gripped her tight, carefully lifting her to the bed just behind them as she looked her over. Willow was evidently in pain, her hand on her stomach while her eyes were clenched shut and she lay in the exact spot she was placed. âWill, take this..â she pleaded, holding a cup of water. The blonde held her breath, doing as Chloe asked and let out a wince as she moved. âI-I canât⊠I donât know whatâs happening.â Willow managed to get out between breaths. âJust lay back, okay?â she said softly, giving one of her hands to Willow. Right now, she wished more than anything they could use cell phones, Jace needed to be here. Instead she just went quickly to finding out what was wrong.
Just as the first time they met, Chloe lifted Willowâs shirt and placed the gel on her stomach, followed by the monitor for the babies. For a few moments she moved it around, picking up the heartbeat of the baby until she moved it to the left, picking up a total of three. âHoly⊠wow, um Willow.â she said, causing the other blonde to prop herself, looking at the screen as the outline of two babies came on. Tears pooled in her eyes as she grinned, it wasnât just one - but two babies, her babies. Their babies. âCongratulations, Willow. Itâs incredible.â she smiled, giving a towel to clean the gel. âNothing out of the ordinary there.. but I will need a blood sample - pains are common, but just to be sure.â she shrugged and Willow nodded, placing her arm up for the blood sample. Once the vials were full of Willowâs blood, Chloe went to take them to the witch in charge of getting lab results, in record time with magic.
Nervously, Willow waited and counted the tiles on the ceiling, waiting, praying.. hoping it was just pains and nothing more. It seemed to be hours, but really it was nearly twenty minutes when her sister in law slowly approached the bed side. Her expression on her face said it all. Willow slowly sat up, her eyes never leaving Chloeâs face as a hand instinctively went to craddle her stomach. âWhatâs wrong..â she asked, swallowing after she had. For a few moments, the room was nothing but silent until Chloe looked away from Willow, she couldnât look her in the eye and tell her. âWillow.. I.. I am so, so sorry.â she stepped closer and truly looked to the woman. âThere is a few complications.. with the pregnancy.â she sighed, closing her eyes briefly before she continued. âYouâre what we call âhigh riskâ you have a condition.. itâs called Placenta Previa.. you run the risk of hemorrhaging during your pregnancy or delivery..â Chloe stopped and took her hand in her own. âOr.. you.. and the babies could both..â she hated this, hated more than anything that this was happening to the new family she had just found, they didnât deserve this.
Willow sat, feeling cold.. like she had just been struck with a semi, she just sat as the words sliced her over and over again, ringing in her ears. Placenta Previa, hemorrhaging, death, babies risk.. A few tears ran down her cheeks as she pushed them back, sniffling and scrambled to get out of bed. âWill-â Chloe tried, but the blonde pushed past her and sped walked out of the room, sobs threatening to bust from the back of her throat. Willow didnât stop, she just kept going and going and going until she reached a room she knew was empty, a room in the Hufflepuff corridor. She just lay on the empty bed and cry, letting it all pour out. She couldnât believe what was happening, she couldnât lose her babies.. her babies couldnât lose her⊠Jace couldnât lose them.. Jace, oh god jace.. her sobs erupted even more as she burried her face into the pillow in attempt to muffle them.
As time went by, she knew she had to go - had to tell Jace.. it was as much his right to know as hers. Fixing her hair, and the dark line of mascara under her eye Willow took a breath and opened the door, she was going to go to her room and tell her husband everything.. everything they had been looking forward to was now everything they would fear the most.
