"I was wonderin' if ye coul' help me find a certain book."
The sound of the familiar voice made her turn and a smile took over her face. It wasn’t the one she gave her coworkers, it wasn’t the one she gave customers, it was the smile she only gave this man. Placing the books she was adding back into the library database as returned on her desk, she stood and walked over to the counter, arms coming to lie on it. She glanced around for a moment, other customers milling about, the other librarians on different floors.
“Of course, I can help you find any book, Sir,” she said in a louder voice before lowering it, hoping their discussion wouldn’t bring over any unwanted ears. Leaning close to him, her eyes, no longer bright, danced with mirth. “That man over there.” She gestured to the man sitting at one of the computers on the far wall. “He’s a professor at Boston University. Teaches physics.” She smirked wickedly. “He looks like he would be fun to rip to shreds.”
