@personae-obscura to start the plot idea where Lady Gotham becomes Danny's ghostly guardian instead of Pandora. I hope this is okay 😭
Clockwork didn't so much summon Lady Gotham as he did invite her, a window to his keep opening on a building above the epicenter of Gotham that lead to his Keep in the Infinite Realm. When she arrived he appeared no more than 6, the staff he carried appearing much to large for him and a smile on his face as he greeted her. “Lady Gotham, thank you for answering my invitation.”
As he nodded his head slightly in respect his form shifted, appearing now as a somewhere between adult and elder. “I've called for you beyond your borders for a guardianship concern, a boy you have a claim to.” He explained before floating over to one of the time mirrors that lined his walls, it showed the past - Danny's fight with Pariah Darhk. “Are you aware that one of your protectors has a twin? Aidan Al Ghul, presumed dead by all but his Mother Talia at 8 and a half years old?”

Clockwork, Envoy of Destiny; Sentry of the Timeline
Clockwork was sent because Destiny needed a witness who would not interfere until necessary to see the extent of what was happening in the Realm of Khaos.
The Infinite Realm was not meant to bend toward despair, nor toward inevitability. Yet under Pariah Darhk, the future there had begun to narrow with outcomes looping, possibilities collapsing into repetition. Destiny saw the danger in that. When a realm loses its branches it stops being truly alive, and Khaos was the foundation of the entire multiverse.
And so Clockwork was dispatched to observe.
He arrived with intent, cataloging what he saw to report back to Destiny. He recorded how Pariah used stolen power to force inevitability and noted where time warped under strain, where the realm resisted and fractured under pressure. His role was simple, understand what could be used and what could become catastrophic if left unchecked.
The Infinite Realm responded to him slowly.
Time behaves differently there, not broken but exposed and chaotic. Small rifts opened where moments overlapped or repeated. Pariah Darhk exploited these when he could, using them to anticipate resistance and reinforce control. Clockwork began sealing them quietly as an act of containment, each closed fracture denied Pariah another advantage. Over time, observation turned into action without realizing it.
Clockwork developed a fondness for the realm that was not quite affection exactly, but curiosity. The Infinite Realm was not linear, yet it wasn't entirely chaotic either. It behaved like something something growing and learning, because it was. He adjusted his records to account for that. Adapted. When Destiny’s sight proved too rigid for what the realm was becoming, Clockwork’s perception shifted with it.
The realm noticed.
When Pariah Darhk fell and the Infinite Realms reclaimed autonomy, it claimed Clockwork along with the other Envoy's as part of its structure. His foresight softened and his awareness widened. Where he once saw what must happen, he began to see how time moves instead. He could consider choices he or other's might make and see how they could effect the future, and act accordingly.
He did not resist the change, somethings were inevitable - it was just a matter of how hard you fought against them happening.
When Danny Fenton entered the Infinite Realms, Clockwork watched closely the same as the other's did. Not to judge or testing him, but to see whether time would narrow again. It didn’t.
That, to Clockwork, was proof enough that he was the right choice.
