It was chaos as usual in the Wilde household, and Pippa tried to navigate the mass of bodies that seemed to congregate in the small kitchen as she made dinner for the family. Music blasted in the kitchen, offset by the sound of Cameron and Matty playing their video games in the front room. âAlly! Come get Ginger out from under my feet please, oh hey Cam catch--â she added as a last minute thing to her youngest brother, tossing his gym bag at him as Ally came flying into the kitchen to grab Ginger by the collar and lead the old lab out of the kitchen.Â
Jack, the oldest boy in the family, came strolling in and ruffled Cameronâs hair as he caught the gym bag and threw it over his shoulder, glancing over Pippaâs shoulder to the back door where their father was sleeping on the porch step -- having been dropped off just a half hour earlier. âWant me to bring him in?â Jack asked, nodding his head to the unconscious older man. âNo.â came Pippaâs reply, âCassieâs coming over, I donât want him stinking the house out.âÂ
As if conjured the doorbell rang and she glanced up, âSomeone get that please?!â she asked, and Matthew, the middle Wilde, slouched towards the door where he merely opened it and saw his sisterâs friend on the other side. âCassies here!â he called, and promptly ditched the door. Grabbing the bottle of wine she bought special from the fridge, she peered her head around the corner and grinned, âHey, câmon in scuse the mess. I swear I tidied up.â she opened the bottle, âWine? Iâm having some, I need it.â
