Some turrets for my first (and released, ayyyy) game: BYTES: The Reverse Tower Defense. Almost all of these are based on PC ports and cables! All of these are always quite far from the camera so little model imperfections aren't a big deal. You'll also notice I snuck in power symbols whenever I could, as that's the antagonist's face. The Plus/X turret is based on headphone jacks:
I think these are my favorite turrets. ---------------------------- The repeater turret, based off display ports and PlayStation cords:
------------------------------ Sniper turret, based off of ethernet cables. Because it's fast! (..And long!) I used the raised nub as an attachment point for a (entirely cosmetic) scope.
^I also snuck in the power symbol. ------------------------------- The Slow Turret is based on a PS/2 Port. Honestly, I just googled around for ports known for being slow and thought this one looked like a turret already. Power symbol was snuck in, both in the general shape and the back.
------------------------------- The Line turret. Based on a serial port, entirely because I wanted something with a wide... "Nozzle"? Adapter? Either way, it shoots wide shots and I needed something wide. It was one of the early turrets, so it's not the best choice.
--------------------------------- Minelayer turret. Truthfully, it's more of a mortar visually but the name stuck. Places targets on the path and fires upward when you path over it. Based on those PC adapters that your fan components typically use.
-------------------------------- Aaaand the Burst Turret. It's one of the first turrets and not based on anything. But, it's clear top-down silhouette is a good thing due to how dangerous the turret is, so I kept it.
