40th
Celebrated my 40th birthday with my friend as he took me to the Maurice and Paul Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles.
The colored windows exhibit I took was the last display I saw; the first thing that came to mind reminded me of that scene in “Bye Bye Birdie”, during the ‘Telephone Hour’ number where teenagers call each other from their bedrooms catching up on the latest gossip. This is very 1950′s contemporary art. As I look at each window, I could picture each teenager popping their head out of the window with the telephone chanting the song verses, “What’s the story, morning glory? What’s the word, hummingbird?”
