Adventures in writing: when English is not your first language
me, writing in English like a champ: okay, this is good, I have managed to write almost ten paragraphs without second guessing or checking any dictionaries. This is great, I am cutting down on the amount of time I spend looking up words, YES!!
also me: is it in or on? #fuckprepositions
also me: so, can I loosely describe the thing I am referring to and don't know the name of? what do you mean that resource is only useful for the speaking part of my ESOL exam? *stares at chunk of text* kill me pls.
also me: so how about I use this English word that is somehow close to a word in my own language? *stares at dictionary entry* WHAT DO YOU MEAN IS OLD FASHIONED??? I don't care, what's register #YOLO
also me: fuck usage, I am using this Latin derived word, f***er.
also me: honestly oxford comma, semi-colon, dashes... you all suck.
also me: what are weeeeerds??
