Luhan hated Jongsuk. Really, he did. He hated how everyone seemed to adore him and how everyone seemed to idolize him. He wasn’t interesting at all— He had nothing out of the ordinary, actually. He was plain normal, except for the fact that he was blessed with a huge brain and with rich parents. But aside from that, he wasn’t either nice or caring or friendly— At least not to Luhan.

In fact, Luhan was just like Jongsuk. Rich, intelligent— Maybe he wasn’t as handsome as the other, and maybe he wasn’t as social as the latter, but he was nice and friendly and he cared for people and helped them out. He cared and loved everyone except Jongsuk, of course.

Whenever they bumped into each other at the halls, it was just a battle of glares and the entire atmosphere tensed up. But they didn’t speak to each other, they didn’t say anything. They just glared and thought about all the things they wanted to tell to each other, and walked away. And the whole school knew exactly how they felt about each other.

But Luhan was really unlucky, and he knew that. And he was always at the wrong time in the wrong place. And he was caught running late to his class and so he was set up for detention for that. Because running in the halls was forbidden and because you shouldn’t be out from your classroom once your class started. But he was an excellent student, and he would obediently accept his punishment, even when it wasn’t fair for him.

So once school was over, he had to go to the detention room and patiently do whatever the hell they were supposed to do for detention. The classroom was empty, and he was the only one in there, and he wanted it to be that way. But of course, once again, Luhan had bad luck, and he quickly noticed someone walking into the classroom as well. 

"You too?" He asked in an annoyed voice, covering his face with his hands. From all the students in this school, the only person that had detention that day besides from Luhan was Jongsuk. 

The teacher walked into the room and gave out instructions of what they had to do. A work. They had to do a small project together because they were the only students taking detentiont that they and they should work together because of that same reason. Luhan wanted to strangle the teacher, but he didn’t say anything.

They both waited until the teacher was gone so they could stare at each other with eyes filled with hate.

"Look— let’s tell him we worked together, but let’s do it separetely," Luhan suggested, and Jongsuk agreed. They quickly turned back to their notebooks and started writing down their project. It didn’t take long for them to finish, but now they had to put their works together.

It took them around thirty minutes to share their notebooks and to check what the other had written. Luhan was shocked to see how nice and proper his enemy’s writing skills were, and he felt somewhat ashamed of his own work. Nevertheless, Jongsuk also pointed out that the things he had written down were good. 

While putting together the notes they’ve made, Luhan started humming a random song from his favorite band, and Jongsuk immediately asked him if he listened to that band. Luhan replied with a nod, and they were soon wrapped around a conversation about how good the guitars sound and how beautiful the singer’s voice is.

Detention was over and they delivered their work, but they were still happily chatting with each other about their favorite tv shows now. They were walking side-to-side down the street and towards their homes, sharing movies and books and recommending some others.

"Who would’ve thought you have such a nice taste in music and tv," Luhan said, smiling a little. "Oh— But—" He quickly said, his smile fading a bit. "No one will know about this. We hate each other and we can’t be friends with each other," they both stared into each other’s eyes for some moments, neither of them smiling. Soon, they both started laughing and they shook hands. "Maybe I can get to like you," he said and Jongsuk agreed. They left to their homes, and the days after that were a bit better.
