Algy @adventuresofalgy was utterly thrilled to receive this photo today from his good friend Bud @bwwhitney in New York State 😀

Bud has been closely involved in arranging an annual fundraising event at the Dan Sekellick Visual Arts Gallery, which is part of the Sand Lake Center for the Arts in Averill Park, not far from Albany NY.

This event takes the form of a silent auction, starting today 1st April 2026 and culminating in a lively reception, featuring the final bidding, on 26th April from 2 to 4 p.m.

This year the event features artwork and photos of birds, all to be auctioned to raise funds for the arts centre, so when Algy saw the call on @bwwhitney for donations of suitable images, he asked whether it might be possible for a rather unusual fluffy bird to participate… and was absolutely delighted when he was permitted to contribute this image of himself (above the tree), as illustrated by his assistant 😀

Although one can never be quite sure of anything in this world, Algy is almost certain that he has never appeared in public in New England before, and Algy considers it a great honour to be appearing with many other birds of all kinds at this very special event. (The photo only shows a small part of the whole exhibition.)

Algy and his assistant wish Bud and the Arts Center the very best of luck with their auction, and hope that they are able to raise lots and lots of useful money for the centre 💲💲💲😀

Algy was sorry that Ludwig, the very special friend of his good friend Bud @bwwhitney in New England, was delayed in getting to Algy's birthday party, but hardly surprised, as a creature of that size and build could not be expected to travel as easily across the mighty Atlantic Ocean as some of Algy's feathered American friends. Algy is just delighted that Ludwig managed to get here🦖

And Ludwig really needn't have worried, because late-arriving guests are especially welcome at Algy's parties; it's always rather sad when a party ends, and a lovely surprise when extra guests turn up and help to extend the celebrations 🎉

Erie County is similar to “Pennsyltucky”--the city of Erie is more liberal and Democrat, but the county is the direct opposite. Millcreek, just outside the city and absorbing the fleeing white population, has the kneejerk NRA supporters that intimidate weak School Directors into supporting this type of BS. 

Ludwig is all ready to attend their very distant cousin Algy’s Hogmanay Hootenanny.

Algy couldn’t be more thrilled! He has welcomed all kinds of guests to his tumblr parties in the past, but never one as distinguished and unique as Ludwig – and with that very special hat!

Having to go through and clean out followers is a pain, but in my opinion necessary. I too hate seeing my posts reblogged by horrible people. I've given up though blocking most horrible people who simply click *like*. Businesses get blocked, especially porn businesses. I have to admit that I don't always automatically block a reblogger simply because they also reblog porn. Violence gets blocked.
