“The world“ isn’t a cold uncaring place

“The world“ isn’t just one thing that will take you and hurt you and leave you.

The world is hundreds and thousands and millions of people who are all making their way through this shitshow and walking into it defensive and distrustful is only ever going to leave you with a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I can’t tell you to be open to every passing stranger, mostly because they probably wouldn’t appreciate that either. 

But being totally closed only hurts you.
