Twice as Nice? This year I promised to regularly post questions and insights from my client experiences…so here we go!! We have all done this….bought duplicate items either in different colors or the exact same color, or repeat items in multiple sizes. I know, I know. You couldn’t decide what color (or size!) to buy, so you just bought both?! It seems counterintuitive, but as I have refined how I manage my own closet, I have learned that this approach is counterproductive. Here’s why… Buying duplicates: · Reduces the variety in your closet causing you to quickly tire of it. · Wastes money because duplicate items often become “orphaned." · Bulks up your closet making it harder to see those things you should be wearing. · Doesn’t reduce stress. (Don’t convince yourself that you will be sad when the items is old and worn, just focus on your next great find!) · Is crazy, not clever.
