well if i think about them using my eli/barra colored lens... i do not know if they're suited for each other or if it would be better to keep them apart.

Look the reason many of us say klay does not deserve fidel's love is because she

is freaking rude to him no matter what he does;

Turns a blind eye on anything he does;

Doesnt care when he asks for forgiveness;

Keeps thinking he is plastic and fake;

Was never truly curious about him:

Never cared to understand how much work he put in to help them (and no that blanket statememt about unsung heroes does not count coz wtf was that even);

Hasn't said one good thing abt him that did not pertain to his good looks and ability to survive her;

Still treated him like a book character (that needed to be protected and saved) and not an actual person;

Has absolutely no shred of accountability for all the shitty behavior directed to him and to others;

sometimes i even think that the reason why klay listened to fidel in EL FILI is coz kuya na kuya na ang vibes niya.

he's more mature, more jaded, and obviously went thru a lot

i think the audience got used to NMT fidel doing whatever klay wanted and beyond, that it's unimaginable for them that for once he is the unreasonable and selfish one in EL FILI

come on for 13 years he was the only one who knew the book and believed everthing klay said then suddenly he's thrust into an existential crisis. It was obvious to fidel as well na hindi naman siya ang totoong binalikan ni Klay kundi si maria clara and simoun. alam ni fidel to.

i wish that it was explored better though. unfortunately klay handled him like she was treating a spoiled brat. she sounded like a teacher trying to calm down a moody student instead.

ang power imbalance nila malaki eh. not once did i feel that klay understood what he felt for everything he learned, unlike whenever she emphathised with ibarra (and maria clara and elias in NMT) and cried with them when they were down.

Even after he shot someone for the first time in NMT, si fidel pa rin nagpatahan sa kanya dahil mas una pa siyang naiyak ng lubos.

the show specialized on show dont tell, but in filay, especially EL FILI FiLay, it always came short.

whenever NMT klay refuses fidel's offers to accompany her home (where she often gets into trouble in the process)

fans: "pls understand klay she is a strong independent woman, she has the right to refuse"

Fidel refuses klay ONCE in EL FILI when she asked him to accompany her

"OMG FIDEL YOU ARE SO SELFISH AND CHILDISH, UNDERSTAND KLAY NAMAN, SHE COULD GET IN DANGER WTF. ANG CORNY MO, LEARN TO PRIOIRITIZE"

si klay naman palaging dapat i-understand and i-forgive dahil "Traumatized" girl siya.
