Honestly I don't really mind that much... People can like/dislike me imma just do my thing, I have in my dni that I don't want people to follow if they care too much abt fandom discourse in case something like this happened and I hoped that got the message across enough. I don't call myself proship/darkship though because I don't really want to be sorted into any sort of black and white fandom shit. Nuance tends to go out the window when people start using those terms and I think the discourse can be pretty polarizing unnecessarily. I have some issues with both antis and proshippers so I don't really want to be either or. It also feels pretty unnecessary if you're not actively posting about it. It's not to hide it, I think I'm pretty open about my views in fiction, and on top of that I've been called out before and it'll probably happen again until I move onto a different special interest years down the line 🤷‍♂️ You can look up my artist tag and see that there's been previous calloutsl. In fact I remember I had darkship in my pinned when I first made this account, but I decided to move it for previously listed reasons. I thought I had that I read dead dove/dark fiction in there too to, but that probably got lost in translation over me trying to condense my pinned over time.

Yes I am the person who owns that blog. I keep it off my main cus 1. The reason I ship it is pretty personal and relates to significant trauma I've had 2. Obviously people are uncomfortable with that stuff, I want people to be able to enjoy my art without being bombarded with darkship stuff at the same time 3. People make assumptions about you just over ships which is weird. I don't feel the need to defend myself every single time someone has an issue with what I ship, so I keep it sequestered to a sideblog and some other private socials.

I don't believe in moralizing what you enjoy as long as it stays fictional. I also didn't choose this to be the ship that my brain latched onto, but it is, so like... What are you supposed to do? Feel guilty and shameful 24/7 over some polygons and deny that you enjoy the ship despite it hitting you juuust right in a way that kind of gets in touch with some deep crevices of your soul, or have fun playing dolls and crack some shitty jokes about it with friends and on a sideblog? I choose the second personally🙏
