Who would have guessed that thing multiple people reccomended to me because they thought I would like it ended up being something that I would like. This is just absurd
The jax plotline is actually really good but it really felt like the rest of the overall plot and pretty much everyone else’s narratives got rushed or left unexplained. But mind you, this is something that is very easily fixable imo by adding an extra episode or two.
TBH, there’s some paranoid part of my brain that says they did that on purpose. Like they left it vague and unanswered for a possible season 2, but maybe that’s just me hoping.
I agree my biggest criticism is that the pacing felt a bit rushed. But also I understand the focus on Jax because I feel like her character was very important for the overall theme of TADC
All of the characters are kind of put as snapshots for certain points in their life, and Jax is at a snapshot where she is at her lowest and most repressed and is acting the way she does as a result of that... Showing what would happen if she never got better and let her repression and insecurity eat her alive etc. leading to her eventual abstraction/death. The overall theme of TADC being that you have to embrace yourself as who you are and learn to love each other despite the conditions trying to go against that, and Jax being the antithesis of that. And Pomni being the exact opposite of that. For Pomni being in TADC means finding an opportunity to become more herself and come out of her shell, for Jax it means to revert further into repression chain up her emotions until it literally kills her.
I honestly feel like the most they should have done is push the final ep out further so they can work more on the other characters tho cus I do agree and feel like they were a bit underdeveloped. But I'm not particularly mad about that because their character arcs were just less important for the themes that were trying to be conveyed. And I feel like the ending was satisfying. I don't really get the vibe they were trying to keep the ending open for a season 2 though and I feel like Gooseworx wouldn't want to make a S2 anyway. I feel like all of the "open" plot-points can be forgiven because the main throughline was resolved, and I think it's intentionally left open for interpretation which I always like
Maybe I care less about this though because I am not a super ultra TADC fan like some people so I feel less "betrayed". If a new installment in the series changes things from how I expect it to go, then it is what it is and I adjust to how it changes. Bc for me a lot of the fun in art is trying to figure out what the creator is trying to say even if it were unintentional (This is why I'm obsessed with GoBB btw).

Is there a reason why people don't like the TADC finale other than just not understanding Jax's character. I was going through the TADC critical tag to see if there's anything besides people just not liking Jax but it feels like it's all people not liking Jax
