You tell yourself, you're nobody's saviour. But you handed out all the tissues when there's tears in your own eyes. đź“· via @bebeautifulla #Writing #Poetry #InstaPoetry #Dzyadzorm #ButterflaeEffect #BE

I had never known dawn to be afraid of morning Never known skin that ached for a darkness to blend in. I had been unfamiliar with words that begged to be swallowed My tears had never owed my face a place to wallow in. I had never prayed for death Never debated my existence nor cursed the present that gifted me with breath. I had never likened a heart to stone Never considered how much blood could slither between flesh and bone. My heart was heavy I had never known weight; the kind that burdens happiness with unpaid levies. I had never been afraid to write Never found shame in the narrations of my plight. There's a thin line between anger and contempt I had never had reason to understand the difference. I did not want to know how a body could stand being so broken I was a closed book but by my cover, I remained wide open. You could read burnt hope from my face unsmiling There were sentences under my eyes screaming the comfort in my bed was retiring. Desire was a sister and laughter, a friend And with each step the boy I loved walked away, I did not know these bonds slowly would end. I had never known innocence to rival maturity Choosing right over wrong was evidence of naivety. I had never tucked skin to my sides to have my stomach look slimmer Never owned eye liners, concealers or any other essentials I had never needed to feel prettier. I had never known stillness to mock when motions leave you lonely Never known silence to talk, spewing emptiness at you only. But the boy I love left and my cry to stay he did not heed Bringing strongly into life, a world of things I did not know nor need. - The Things He Left Me With [Part One] #Love #Heartbreak #Relationships #Writing #AmWriting #Poetry #InstaPoetry #ButterflaeEffect #BE #Dzyadzorm #TalesOfEVA
You swear there’s never going to be another. You swear God didn’t duplicate eyes that looked to you like you had sunsets embedded in your melanin It seems impossible that another’s tongue could fill in the blank spaces living inside your mouth His hands knew too well how to dance across the small of your back and you’re too reminded of him to teach another the rhythm You want to forget him but you’ll lose the memories of the you you love most too. So you massage thoughts of him present in your temple Maybe he’s gone somewhere to wait for you Maybe someone else is waiting Little darling, somebody’s waiting somewhere Give fate time to teach you.
