In Archie’s defense, he had no idea Maxie would react this way.

“Who knew my husband’s bony backside was so sensitive?” Archie snickered, laughing hysterically at Maxie’s reaction to getting his bum squeezed. He knew he’d get a swat, maybe a hiss of “cut that out, you big oaf!”

All the things he expected, it certainly wasn’t a squeal!

“Archie, you son of a-stahahap!” Maxie twisted away, waving his spatula like a weapon. “Get off, I’m trying to cook! Do you want me to burn dinner?”

“I wouldn’t mind it- I have one heck of a snack before me.” Archie grinned, delighted at how flustered Maxie looked. When the redhead turned back to the pan, he reached out again-

“Archie.” Maxie was so fast! He had his wrist in an iron grin, the deadliest of glares on his face as he pulled the sailor closer. “One more time and I’ll make you regret it.”

Archie considered, looking from his trapped wrist to Maxie’s unyielding glare to the pan of sizzling stir fry.

Then he figured he already lived a pretty good life and pulled towards himself, bringing Maxie into his chest with a yelp. “Arch-ehehehehehehehhehe!” Maxie could barely respond before he was laughing, fingers worming into his ribs as strong arms trapped him. “Whahahhat abohohohout the fohohohoohohood?”

“Ay, don’t worry about that.” Archie kept tickling with one hand as he reached out with the other, pushing the pan off the heat and saving the day. “Now I can tickle you all I want! Hehehe~”

“Yoohohoohoohu’re nohohohohot gehehehhehehetting a sihihihiihngle bihiihihihte of diihihihiner, you jehehheheerk-AH! AHehahahahahha Ahahahhharchie!” Maxie all but squealed when those dastardly hands came back, squeezing the back of his hips and lower spine. “Dooohohoohhon’t!”

“No dinner for me, huh? Looks like I’m gonna have to fill up on your pretty laugh, Maxie! Hehehe~”

Archie ended up on the couch that night.
