that scene with meadow and tony is also just so sad. i feel like tony somehow looks incredibly tragic and just completely evil in that lighting. and it feels like this sad scene of him desperately trying to reach out to his daughter except that like, he's lying like he always does, and just like in "college" as soon as she realizes the conversation has turned from genuine to manipulation she gets up and leaves. this isn't all for meadow and aj, they're not going to benefit from their dad dying or going to prison

really fun episode i like sopranos most when it gets more personal and i like how it was a sequel to the happy wanderer

tony allowing aj to drive the boat and then him knocking over two random people in a canoe is a pretty perfect encapsulation of what this episode was about lol

look i know tony killed a guy and yelled at melfi and missed aj's swim meet and bankrupted his childhood friend but at least he also awkwardly forced someone in the crossfires of his mafia feud to be a spokesperson for spinal injuries and he gets to take aj out on a boating trip so like. in the end i think that balances out right
