Plant of the Day
Monday 4 September 2017
Creating an airy mass of the small blue flowers at the end of summer is Browallia americana (Jamaican forget-me-not, amethyst flower, bush violet). This tender perennial is from tropical South America and is grown from seed sown in early spring for summer-flowering plants. It grows in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to half shade. Here is was adding to the late season display at Great Dixter, Sussex, UK.
