Day 3 of BurlyCon was a rollercoaster of emotions. The odd feelings of the day before lingered. I woke up so sore and depressed that I decided I wasn’t going to get out of bed. A class I had planned on attending since I looked at class schedule I decided to skip because I felt so awful. I had woken up in tears. I pushed through and made it class. I’m glad I did. It improved my mood. After lunch I tried to go to another class, but the weird feelings of inadequacy kept me from going. I tried to be social and hang out in the hospitality room but I was in there less than 5 minutes and ran back to room because I was so uncomfortable. I stayed there most of the afternoon. And slept. At dinner time I got texts to grab drinks and dinner. I showed up to the restaurant in my Cookie Monster onesie. That dinner was what I needed. Needed to spend some time bonding and chatting with my burlesque friends. I didn’t want to miss story time. And since I felt like a bum most of the day, I felt compelled to turn on the Lady Sapphire Noir Glamour Factor. I went to my room threw on some foundation and lipstick, changed into this gorgeous Wassa gown in my signature color and proceeded to walk through the hotel like I owned the joint. So much sass! The stories told at story time touched my heart, inspired me, made me cry, made me laugh. It gave me the BurlyCon experiences that I longed for. I attended the Peer Reviews. Offered the most helpful feedback I could give and cheered on my fellow performers. It was a full evening. Night 2 of BurlyCon. Toga party. I am wearing a Lord Sapphire Noir Original dress. It was gorgeous and I loved it. Didn’t love the way I looked. I wasn’t as sparkly as my dress. Day 2 of BurlyCon was not as pleasant as Day 1. Social anxiety was at an all time high. I ran out of things to say. I didn’t feel like I belonged. And then freaking out about the fire that is burning 1 mile from my new home in West Hills. I’m hoping that today goes better. First night at BurlyConXI. Back to School Night Meet and Greet last night was a blast. My customized Lettermen jacket was a big hit.
