This Haloumi Burger With Miso Carrot Salad is a tasty and filling vegetarian burger choice. Grilled haloumi cheese goes well with a miso-dressed carrot salad that is tangy and full of flavor. Every bite is a pleasure because it has a great mix of textures and tastes.
Ingredients: 4 haloumi slices. 4 burger buns. 2 cups shredded carrot. 2 tablespoons white miso paste. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar. 2 tablespoons sesame oil. 1 tablespoon honey. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. 1 clove garlic, minced. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste. Lettuce leaves for garnish. Sliced cucumber for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and a pinch of pepper to make the dressing for the carrot salad. Set aside. Place the shredded carrot in a large mixing bowl and pour the dressing over it. Toss well to coat the carrots with the dressing. Allow it to marinate for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Grill the haloumi slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden and have grill marks. Remove from the grill and set aside. Cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill for a minute or two, until they are slightly crispy. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a grilled haloumi slice, followed by a generous portion of the miso carrot salad. Garnish the burgers with chopped fresh cilantro and sliced cucumber. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper if desired. Place the top half of the burger buns on each burger to complete the assembly. Serve your Haloumi Burger With Miso Carrot Salad immediately and enjoy!
