10 Speed Coffee, 3014 Worthen Ave Building C, Los Angeles (Frogtown), CA 90039
10 Speed Coffee is a local roaster with a cycling theme. It has four coffee shops, including the Frogtown location. It’s near the LA River bike path and does attract many cyclists.
While there is no kitchen, they make up for it with premade burritos and breakfast sandwiches, pastries from Cadoro (croissants, muffins, cookies), and grab n go packaged Belgian waffles, oatmeal cups, and snacks. They can heat things up for you. The breakfast sandwich is vegan.
For drinks, they have espresso drinks, cold brew, nitro, single origin drip coffee, espresso tonics, tea lattes, and tea. The cappuccino was Milk options: whole, 2%, oat, almond. No pour over coffee.
I like how they use real cups and plates for dine-in. The ceramic mugs have a lovely glaze.
Ham & cheese croissant - not sure what happened but it was very dry.
French onion Danish: the onion filling that did remind me of French onion soup. It was a little chewy, but that’s probably because they heated it up. I thought it would be flakier because it looked like croissant dough. Very tasty.
Cappuccino ($5.50): very good with pretty foam art. Not as tiny as some places.
There are plenty of tables and chairs on the patio, with three tables and counter-seating indoors.
The front of the building is all glass, so you can look onto the parking and the LA River. The building looks modern and is part of a complex that looks new. The walls are adorned with cycling photos. You can buy coffee beans, cold bottled and canned drinks, and branded merch.
The 10 Speed spaces say they’re for pickup and limited to 15 minutes. You’ll have to exit the complex to find more parking. I found unlimited parking but there weren’t that many spaces.
