Ooooh tough question.

I think Roxas would realize he's in love first. Because he's a lot more keyed into recognizing when something is different, when he can't identify what's going on with himself. So he'd talk to Xion about it, ask Axel. Like he would treat his feelings like something to investigate and the revelation that he adores Sora, that it's kind of natural to always want to be around someone, to not be able to picture a future without them, to want to keep them safe and near and see them smile is... well, that's love?

Yeah, he'd figure that out first.

Sora would be the one to confess. Probably several months later after the most random of moments makes him realize OH MY GOD I'M IN LOVE AREN'T I? Probably when he's hanging out with Kairi so she can laugh at him and be like "yes? yes. I thought we'd covered this months ago but yes you are, silly boy."

He'd be a giant ball of nerves about it too, but after he figures himself out it really wouldn't take long for a confession to happen. He probably makes an attempt at a plan before just blurting it out and making them both freeze up and stare at each other like deers in the headlights for a solid minute.

But the smile that Roxas gives him, once the words sink in?

How do you think everyone would react? The kids and their friends who now have to take care of them? Sora has a mom but do they take him back home or does Sora stay with the others?

Ooooh I am into this concept, I do like when age retractions allow for memories of being older to linger as well, especially when the mentality of the characters have to ascribe to the limitations of a smol body (and brain!)

This would be cute and awful for everyone. The heart hotel are adorable...and ridiculously co-dependent, constantly suffering nightmares, bursting into tears a lot, hiding under beds and getting frustrated when they can't explain why.

Sora is always bright and bubbly but now he's younger and it's Super Obvious when his smiles are fake. He still stands up for everyone and tries to take the blame for literally anything that goes wrong and when one of the others isn't feeling like doing something or has a chore because they're in trouble.

Roxas goes between adoring Sora and being his shadow to being extremely upset at Sora and it's so hard to tell when that bad mood is going to come up. He's practically got one hand attached to Xion's at all times and she'll barely speak to anyone so he's constantly speaking for her like

Aqua: Xion would you like to learn how to paint? Roxas: /glances at Xion Roxas: she says no. But she'll watch.

Vanitas would be the most feral of all of them and oh. Oh no. He and Ven are very worrying. Vanitas won't let anyone touch Ven. They keep stashing food in their room, and the only reason they find out is because some of it rots. The two of them... run away? A lot. They never get far but they have so many hiding places and everyone learns real fast to not get angry at them, raise their voice-

Summon their Keyblade because Ven can and will freeze up and Vanitas will try to claw their faces off.

I want you to know how much this ask hurts me Bunny.

Anyway I have thought of this before and a lot could happen so I'm just gonna dot point some reasonable ideas. Because I'm very normal about this concept.

Vanitas would either perish, go off the rails, and/or Xehanort would try and preserve him somehow which would also be Not Great (I'm ignoring you KHUX don't look at me like that in BBS Vanitas very clearly made himself out to be part of Ventus we're sticking with it)

Though Vanitas Remnant as this jittering, ghastly apparition that haunts Aqua and Terra's every step does sound Absolutely Amazing.

The X-blade part of Xehanort's plans would unfortunately have to be put on hold for a while, so BBS would have a huge focus on Terra and his struggles with Darkness versus Aqua and her struggles with her blinkered perceptions of Light. Still ends in tragedy for everyone.

Eraqus' death would be... I'm gonna say it'd have to be in the Keyblade Graveyard. I'm gonna say it's still the key to unlocking Terra's Darkness, but there's no reason for him to be stuck in LoD. He'd probably get a grand sacrifice moment.

Instead of Sora saving Ven with his Birth he probably just...soaks up whatever cosmic stardust is left of him at birth. We're still not sure how much of Sora is Ven, he still gets his link to Vanitas (if Vanitas even survives)

Roxas becomes an even greater question mark at that stage because once again, he's Sora's Nobody. But now he's the Nobody of someone filled with the remnants of the Light of someone's Heart and man

Roxas would be a whole new kettle of fish, huh? If Ven was to have any meaningful impact on the story going forward, beyond whatever the hell happens with Sora and Vanitas, it'd have to be in Roxas. Potentially in some wild "I am almost a reincarnation of this person, I am a blend of two people in a trenchcoat and as I regain Sora's memories There's Something Else There and it is Bad"

Would Castle Oblivion even happen? Would LoD even be locked away? If it was, would Xemnas have any reason to be pursuing it??? What happens to Namine in a world without C.O? What happens to the Org?

Xehanort's whole speech in 3D would be very different too. Talking about the X-blade and how it failed like... god there'd be no attachment from the Light to Ven at all. So they'd probably be hearing for the first time that Xehanort attempted, once, to rip a Heart in half and manufacture it, and it ended in-- immediate failure. With all the fridge horror that implies.

Idk man idk very bad no good things would happen and I don't want to live in a world where Venjamin Kingdom Hearts didn't bless us with his "a meteor shower! :D" in the very opening of the game.

Could you imagine if the only reason we had any link to Ven at all... was because he was a dead narrator talking about how his death spawned... all of this pain? How he wishes he could've made a difference? The lingering regrets of a dead child?

Pain is really– nothing new. At all. Life is pain. It’s a continual cycle of spiked agony as Unversed are ripped and returned and ripped again. A weight that’s been adapted to, easily ignored until the world decides to toss a little more weight into it.

He is in so much pain. And yet, Vanitas almost feels… only vaguely aware of that. 

It’s dark. His eyes are closed, so it’s dark. The world is shifting, swaying in an almost urgently rhythmic manner that presses his side up against something hard and cold, a grunt of protest escaping his lips as nothing more than a whisper. It hurts. Everything hurts. Distantly.

“Vanitas.”

The thing that permeates it all, ironically enough– or perhaps just, typically, this is typical– is Ventus. He can’t see him, necessarily, but he knows; past the heavy strides of booted feet on the ground, matching the way his own body seems to swing like a pendulum in the air, the rapid tread of lighter feet is Ventus. His anxiety bleeds across him in a way his own bleeding doesn’t register. His Light, stifling panic, fixated on him.

“Vanitas, stay with us, okay? Just–” Did his voice crack? “Stay awake, okay?” 

Stay awake? What kind of demand is that?

He’s tired. Tired and, through whatever haze of– ah, shock. It’s shock, probably. He’s in shock, something he’d experienced a handful of times under Xehanort’s tender hands– pain riddles him, quite possibly bleeding out. Maybe. Cold as that armor is, there’s a not insignificant amount of his person that’s warm, wet, and tacky. 

Stay awake? No. He really can’t think of anything worse. But Ventus keeps talking– begging, really. Ventus is begging him. And at some point there’s a reassuring voice in his ear, saying that they’re almost there, and then Sora is yelling something, voice pitched high in fear, and that is too many people, way too many hands, and they don’t go away when he weakly attempts to shove them all away.

‘Hey look kids under ten eat free’ ‘sorry guys you’re too young to drink’ ‘does baby want a nap’

I feel like Axel is probably the only person who gets away with those sorts of jokes without getting his head bitten off. And only because they probably joke back that he's their deadbeat uncle who really has no right to pretend he should be raising children.

Vanitas probably attempts to taunt them with that for a while, until Ven calmly hands him a sippy cup like "if they were one when the Keyblade War happened, you were four. Do you need nap time?"

At which point the taunts stop real fucking fast.

Vanitas would look at Kairi and see a threat

That Is Important

(Princess of Heart = Light stronger than Ventus )+ Keyblade + personally trained by Master kicked- ass- to -the -graveyard-and -back Aqua = Biggest Threat To His Existence Ever

This Is Important

EVERYONE on the Light side sees Kairi as some kind of Damsel in distress, even after getting her own keyblade , even after fighting in the same war, even after her own duel with Xehanort in her heart in Melody of Memory. Sora and Riku especially, see the girl not the warrior.

Vanitas would see her strength first and foremost.

Kairi needs that I think.

Even taking out the 'trained by Aqua' because lol personally I don't think she should be teaching anyone anything (sorry girl but if Riku and Sora have to go through a Mark of Mastery like that yours may as well be from the back of a cereal box) Kairi would be a huge existential crisis for Vanitas-- and man that would be quite the revelation for her.

It's easy to imagine some kind of crisis or attack where Vanitas like...defers. To her. Or just, whenever everyone is debating what they need to do next he always ends up being the person to cut everyone else off and ask her opinion on it.

Does he sometimes roll his eyes and take charge if she pauses a little too long in surprise? Yep. But as she adapts and she realizes that Vanitas is not only genuinely asking her opinion/direction but is going to respect it, man.

He's not even intending to empower her and he does. He just-- figures she'd expect it. He's taken aback by her not expecting it. His opinion of Light Denizens continues to drop below the floor because not only do they have a Princess of Heart she's a fucking Keybearer and they don't even bother listening to her, like, what????

They only got to know VV after the war right? So they’d be fairly unbiased in their opinion of Vanitas?

Yeah look the last people who are gonna judge Vanitas for working for the bad guy are Roxas and Xion. They've been there they know what's up.

That said like, depends on if you're taking this from an AU or canon, really. With Ven, I think Roxas would be very reserved until Ven made it clear how much he was excited to get to know Roxas for Roxas. He'd be a bit avoidant, at first, but Ven would absolutely wear him down, at which point I think they'd absolutely own being face twins. Those two are ride or die after a while you cannot change my mind on this.

In contrast I've always felt that Ven is...emotionally intelligent? So his approach to Xion would be much gentler. Again, he'd make it very clear he wants to know her for her, and all around Xion and Roxas' opinion on Ven would just be

Vanitas. Lol I mean I've talked about the fact that he and Roxas would hate each other on sight before and I stand by it. Depending on how nice he is to Ven by the time Roxas meets him would change how aggressive that hate is, however. If he's chill with Ven, then that hate is gonna be based on lowkey mutual respect. They are the Others who have and will do shit that needs doing, and are positively unrepentant when the need to be sneaky or violent comes up.

And I feel like Xion would get Vanitas in a way very few others would. Like... his existence harms. Him existing harms. Hers did too. She'd understand his exhaustion with life and desire for oblivion better than anyone, because, well, she's been there. Roxas hasn't, he railed against it. But she's been there. To everyone else it probably looks more like Vanitas avoids her but really, he's just-- not really sure how to be gentle with her. So he keeps a bit of distance.

Is there one World Order for the whole universe or does each world get its own version?

Cause World Order said that Sora and co. had to be sea creatures in Atlantica , monsters in Halloween Town and animals in Pride Lands.

Why do those specific worlds get a costume change when people ignore how much Donald and Goofy stand out in other worlds?

In KH1 I believe Donald specifically mentions prior to landing in Atlantica and afterrrr landing in Halloweentown that he, specifically, causes the magical changes, both costume wise and physical.
