they removed the project diva future tones from my local arcade and they happened to be the only project divas in the entire state. I would have to drive 6 hours to play project diva now. I EXPLICTLY went in there with the intention to play Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade Future Tone (2013) (this is the reason i started regularly going to this arcade in the first place) and this is what I am greeted with (no project divas) (they were gone) (they had some stupid fruit ninja clone in their rightful place) (found them in pieces against the back walls) (they still worked) (someone was camping on them last week) (they still made money). you can tell how serious this is because i am making a tumblr post about it which I never do.
this combined with the Fucking TV instead of an actual hologram at miku expo for the 10th anniversary..... it is a dark fucking couple months for the state of hatsune miku. project this summer is to diy an arcade cabinet. or to go dumpster diving if they threw them out. im so sneefious scoob im gonna eat sheet metal

15 bucks for new belts. I hate spending money so bad -_-
tape deck does not work :( but that just means I get to post more about it :)
as expected the belts on the inside are completely obliterated. interestingly, instead of flaking off like they did in my dad's double tape deck, these ones turned to fucking Goop and Ooze and Slutch.
the gear you see in the middle that has the goop coming off of it is what turns the little spokes that turn the tape reels so it can be read. the thing that melted to smithereens is the belt that connects it to the motor, hence why it won't spin the cassettes. the same belt was melted on both sides so I'm just showing one for convenience.
^ that's me after touching it for like two seconds. it got so so so much worse than this while I was trying to clean it up. this shit would immediately transfer to anything I touched it was like I was in a young tween's edgy vent amv from 2015. I also had just finished servicing the dryer right before I started this, so it got all up in the fucking microscopic cuts on my hands and hurt like a bitch when i had to use acetone to clean it off (soap was Not Working)
but! despite it all it is clean now. all that's left is to order a pair of belts :)

vcr pc was a success. I'm calling it the MIKU MACHINE (I plan to put miku decals on it at some point)

16 bucks baybee!!! looks in pretty good condition too!!! gonna hook it up when I get home, if it works fucking swagtastic but if it doesn't that means I get to explain how to service these things! I've done it before and it was really fun and rewarding :)
