In 2017 Los Angeles artist David Esfahanian, aka Bumblebeelovesyou spent Cinco de Mayo painting outside The Kitchen at 20th and K St in Bakersfield and says he felt incredibly welcomed by an appreciative community. As part of the city's efforts to attract talent and investment there is a growing recognition that it must have a strong downtown and art scene. In addition, this project was used as a catalyst for raising awareness of Kern County's rate of food insecure households and provided an opportunity for a food drive and fundraising for Bakersfield Homeless Center.  @bumblebeelovesyou/ @thekitchen1317/

Soscol Ave by Vallejo Street in Napa, Ca
Last January 2017 Radnapa (Rail Arts District Napa Valley) began a mural project on the backs of several buildings close to the Wine Train terminal in Napa off Soscol just south of Vallejo St. The Wine Train is a partner with Radnapa in making a 1.7 mile stretch more visual for their riders as they set off for their the wine country experience. Several murals were painted last year. Now two more were just painted and a mural is currently being painted inside their Napa station. Thinkspace is the curator.
