"you don't know what you want" - he doesn't know the Ares he sees in front of him anymore, the Ares that is killing everyone with no mercy(because he sees it as self-defense) isn't a 'who', it's a 'what', a monster. but he wants the Ares he knew once back. what he wants is for Ares to just come back from his psychotic episode

"but you know that you had it once and you know that you want it back."

"but you know that you had it once" - he had Ares once. They were fucking dating ffs. He knew how ares was when he wasn't psychotic and he fell in love with that, and yea ares had psychotic episdoes before but they were managable and they could actually help with that, now builderman is powerless to stop against a higher power influencing and making everyone worse

"and you know that you want it back." - self explanatory, builderman wants his boyfriend back

To Ares in specific: There will always be an image of Builderman looking back at him but with his face completely empty, like a blank state, and a malevolent aura as if BM is about to kill him. This is made to portray Builderman as a bad person, as if he were actually a mimic and out to get and kill Ares. Some ideas I have for the quote,

For context, Ares is under the delusion that the Spectre is manipulating him, so the Spectre manipulates Ares into truly believing his lover is a mimic designed to hunt him down and kill him. The constant caps are to represent the madness he's fallen into.

To Builderman in specific: There will be a rough sketch of Ares looking directly at Builderman with a delighted expression, his eyes closed and his arm outstretched. It is to convey the impression of innocence, that BUILDERMAN ruined this, what he could have had if things hadn't gone the way they did. Here are some ideas I have for the quote.

For context, Builderman deliberately contributed by his inaction to Ares's initial death, since he knew from the start Ares was dying but was afraid of being seen as a bad person, so he kept quiet and just let it happen. The Spectre exploits his guilt and sorrow by tormenting him, saying that HE did this, HE caused the death of his partner, HE unleashed this on the survivors.
