Okay, so in all seriousness. Vegans don’t eat anything animal industry wise, but what about bugs. Like fried crickets, meal worms, ant larva. Great source of minerals and good fats, plus environmentally friendly.
Well, bugs are animals too. I’m sorry that’s not a very comprehensive answer on the whole ethical side of things, but I don’t think that anything else really needs to be said to explain our position on that. As for environmentalism, the whole “environmentally friendly” thing is completely unsubstantiated, we have almost no idea how sustainable it would be if it were scaled up to meet anything close to current demand, considering that they would need to fed, processed and treated, just like farmed animals are not. More than that, we already have healthy, sustainable sources of protein; they’re called plants.
